Trip Description
In the untamed wilderness of western Greenland, hunters can experience one of the world’s most unique and rewarding adventures: musk ox hunting in Greenland. Set against a backdrop of sweeping tundra, ice-capped mountains, and endless northern skies, this Arctic hunting trip combines challenge, tradition, and comfort in equal measure. Expert local guides—born and raised in Greenland’s wild country—lead every expedition with deep knowledge of the land, ensuring a safe, ethical, and unforgettable arctic experience.
In spring, hunters travel by ATV across the tundra, searching out musk ox herds as the Arctic days lengthen under the returning sun. In fall, hunts shift to the water, with boats carrying guests through breathtaking fjords and glacial lakes to reach remote valleys alive with autumn color. While the primary focus is on world-class musk ox, hunters may also have the opportunity to pursue the region’s Greenland caribou, adding an exciting element to the expedition.
After a day in the field, guests return to comfortable lakeside hunting cabins, complete with heating, generated electricity, hearty meals inspired by local cuisine, and panoramic views of Greenland’s untouched beauty. Small groups (maximum of 6) ensure a personalized experience, emphasizing safety, camaraderie, and the spirit of true adventure.
A new option recently added—hunters not wanting to stay in the remote cabin can choose a hunt based out of a hotel in town (included in the hunt cost) and will travel by ATV to the hunting area and back to the hotel each evening.
For hunters seeking more than a trophy—those drawn to the challenge, solitude, and authenticity of the Arctic—this guided musk ox hunt in Greenland stands apart. With experienced guides, ethical hunting practices, and the chance to explore one of the world’s last great frontiers, it’s more than a hunt—it’s the ultimate Greenland hunting experience.
